Discontinuing Email Service

Haviland Broadband always strives to provide a quality product. Over the years, we have put a lot of effort into keeping our email system up to date, secure, and reliable. However, with increasing costs and no revenue associated with our customer's email, we feel that we are no longer providing a service that meets our quality standards. We believe that larger email providers like Microsoft's Hotmail and Google's Gmail can provide more space and better spam filtering for free than what we can provide to our customers. Because of this, we have decided to discontinue our email service.

Over the next year, we will be phasing out the free email addresses we have been providing for our customers. Your @havilandtelco.com and/or @gmaxx.us email address will be deactivated effective July 1, 2024. 

So, what should you do? It would be in your best interest to begin migrating to a new email account as soon as possible. If you already have an email account that is not a havilandtelco.com or gmaxx.us account, you can begin migrating to that account. If you do not have any other email account, you can create a new free account with one of the many email providers online. Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo and iCloud are just a few of the options available.

You will need to begin changing your contact email for any accounts and/or websites you may have set up using this email account.

For example:

• Online banking and credit card accounts
• Social media accounts including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Snapchat, TikTok, etc.
• Shopping websites like Walmart, Amazon, Costco, etc.
• Streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Video, Paramount+, Disney Plus, etc.
• School correspondence
• Online patient portals
• Subscription boxes
• Insurance, retirement, social security log-ins
